Warren Lawn Programs

Our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs are designed to create a healthy and beautiful lawn using quality, natural-based product and liquid herbicide. This improves plant strength and density to control weed, insect and disease attacks with minimum pesticide use. Pest control materials are carefully selected and applied to minimize risk to human health, beneficial and non-targeted organisms, and the environment.

Your family’s safety is top priority at Warren Lawn,

and that includes your pets. Before each application you will receive an email notification the day before we come so you know to have your dogs inside and gates unlocked and ready for us. Immediately following the application, you will receive another notification with helpful tips on how to care for your lawn after the application and proper safety measurements that need to be taken.

7 Step Program

Round 1 – Pre-Emergent Fertilizer and Weed Control

The first step in the application program. As the lawn begins to wake up from being dormant in the Winter, it needs a boost to begin to green up. We apply a fertilizer that will help it do just that. But more importantly, this granular fertilizer is mixed with a pre-emergent that will lay down a protective barrier on the soil to help prevent crabgrass and other grassy weeds from germinating and growing in your lawn. As will most of our lawn applications, we will have weed control on hand ready to kill any weeds that may have popped up early.

Round 2 – Post/Pre-Emergent Fertilizer and Weed Control

The second step in the application program. This provides another round of fertilizer to help the lawn continue to grow lush through the Spring as well as a post/pre-emergent product mixed in. This product beefs up the barrier we laid down in Round 1, as well as puts a stop to any weeds that may have slipped through and had a chance to germinate. This round also includes weed control that can be applied if needed.

Round 3 – Early Summer Fertilizer

The first application in early Summer. As days begin to warm up, Warren Lawn will apply a fertilizer that has Iron mixed in. This iron will help give the lawn a green pop to provide you the sustained color and growth.

The mosquitos and other pests like fleas and ticks will begin waking up soon as well as the night time temperatures rise, now is also the best time to spray down a mosquito control. Round 4 – Mid Summer Fertilizer with Weed Control

The next application in the Summer. The grass continues to need nitrogen to grow and iron to remain green, so we apply the same fertilizer as round 3 to give it all that it needs to thrive. As Summer heats up, make sure to water your lawn if the rain hasn’t been falling. Flea and tick as well as mosquito control will continue to be applied during this round. If any weeds have popped up since the last application, those will get taken care of as well.

Round 5 – Aeration and Overseeding

One of the most important applications in the program. Aeration and Overseeding will do so many great things for the lawn. Releasing compaction, allowing nutrients to get into the soil, allowing water to soak in and letting oxygen sink in to the soil. All of these things are great by products of aeration of the soil. Top that with overseeding with our premium grass seed blend, this application is the pinnacle of increasing the thickness and health of your lawn. Learn more about aeration and overseeding.

Round 6 – Early Fall Fertilizer and Weed Control

As Summer begins to fade, the grass will begin to love the cool down. As we look towards Fall and winter, we apply an organic-based fertilizer with a higher level of nitrogen to begin to ramp up the lawn to enter into dormancy. If any new weeds have popped up, we will also spray weed control to knock them down as well.

Round 7 – Late Fall Winterizer Fertilizer

The last application of the season. This application is your investment into the next Spring. We apply a high rate of nitrogen to boost the lawn into the cold dormant months. This allows nitrogen to sign on the lawn on reserve until the snow melts next Spring, allowing for a quick green up the next year when temperatures rise again.
